Book Donation Procedures and Acceptance Criteria
Book donations made to theİBB Library and Museums Directorateare reviewed by our expert staff. Following the evaluation process, a significant portion of the accepted books is distributed to educational institutions and relevant organizations throughout Türkiye, in line with our principle ofproviding equal opportunities for children, thereby contributing to a nationwide book-sharing network.
To ensure that the donation process proceeds smoothly, donors are kindly requested to consider the following criteria before sending their books.
Materials Not Accepted
Textbooks
Books on medicine, law, and engineering
Encyclopedias
Books that have lost their physical integrity, including those that are excessively worn, yellowed, have missing pages, or contain extensive markings, notes, or highlighting
Non-book materials
Donation Methods and Shipping Process
Eligible book donations may be delivered directly to our libraries or sentfree of chargevia our contracted shipping company. Before shipping your donation, theBook Donation Information Formmust be completed.
Drop-off at a Yurtiçi Kargo Branch
Deliver your parcel to the nearestYurtiçi Kargobranch using the contract code1213108155.
Courier Pick-up

Important Information
Each parcel sent by cargo must not exceed30 desi(approximately15 kg).
The free shipping service is availableonlyfor shipments made throughYurtiçi Kargousing the contract code1213108155.
If another shipping company is used, all shipping costs are the responsibility of the sender.
Cash-on-delivery (receiver-paid)shipments sent through other cargo companies willnotbe accepted by our institution.
Donations Intended for the İBB Library Collection
If you would like your donated books to be considereddirectly for inclusion in the İBB Libraries collection, rather than being distributed to other institutions, a preliminary evaluation is required.
Please follow these steps:
Before sending or delivering your books, email a detailed list of the titles tokitapbagis@ibb.gov.tr.
The submitted list will be evaluated in accordance with our collection development policy and current collection needs.
You will be officially informed regarding the acceptance decision and delivery procedure.
