The IMM Document Collection consists of 100,795 various archival documents. Among the documents are foundation charters, correspondence, letters, notebooks, and personal archives. The collection is comprised of unique, wide ranging materal such as Fahreddin Pasha's notes on the Defense of Medina, Celal Esat Arseven's architectural works, and correspondence with people from the world of literature and art.

The collection has significant archives, publications, and articles on the art history of Topkapı Palace Museum. The museum’s inventory, statement of assets and liabilities, official correspondence, and architectural plans are included in the collection. The Municipality’s Miscellaneous Documentation containing the memories of Kilercibaşı Şükrü Yenal, and the articles and reports of Tahsin Öz are also included.
