Bakırköy Lending Library As part of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s initiative, the Bakırköy Lending Library, the second example of our lending library project, was opened to the public on March 7, 2024. Located in Bakırköy Square, one of Istanbul's busiest urban areas, the library contributes to the transformation of the square into a cultural and artistic hub, while making books more accessible to Istanbul residents. Our library houses a collection of 2,114 books from esteemed publishers across a wide range of subjects including history, literature, political science, philosophy, research and analysis, art, informatics, technology, science, religion, personal development, cultural heritage, architecture, and design. Bakırköy Lending Library is open every day from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, except weekends. All local residents, including those in the service area of Bakırköy Lending Library, can benefit from the lending services of all libraries affiliated with the Library and Museums Branch Directorate of the Department of City History and Promotion under the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
