Named after Ord. Prof. Dr. A. Süheyl Ünver, renowned for his contributions to medical history as well as cultural and artistic studies, the Ahmet Süheyl Ünver Library was opened in 2002 in Ümraniye, Istanbul.

Located inside the Haldun Alagaş Sports Complex, the library welcomes readers with a collection of 37,321 materials, within a 954-square-meter space and with a seating capacity of 215 people.

In addition to sections for adults, the library includes two separate rooms specially designed for children aged 0–7 and 7–14.

The Ahmet Süheyl Ünver Library regularly hosts educational activities for children, support seminars for parents, and study programs for students preparing for exams.

Borrowing Services and Membership

All residents in the area—and across Istanbul—can benefit from the borrowing services of the Ahmet Süheyl Ünver Library and all other libraries affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Directorate of Libraries and Museums.

To become a member, readers can use the İBB Kütüphane Mini App via the İstanbul Senin mobile application for quick registration and easy access to services.

Alternatively, membership can be completed through the e-Government (e-Devlet) portal at turkiye.gov.tr by searching “İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kütüphane” and clicking the "Belediye Kütüphaneleri Üyelik Bilgileri Sorgulama ve Üyelik Başvurusu" link. After completing the required fields, users can submit their application by clicking “Apply.” A password is sent via SMS and email, enabling access to all IBB library services.

Those who prefer to register in person can visit any IBB library with an official, valid ID such as a national ID card, driver’s license, or passport.
