Part of the transformation of the Büyük İstanbul Otogarı (Grand Istanbul Bus Terminal), the Evliya Çelebi Library was opened on January 24, 2022. Named after the great traveler Evliya Çelebi, our library reflects the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s vision to transform the traditional concept of libraries, providing the city not only with book collections but also a cultural and educational center.
With a collection of 11,188 works, the library includes books in many fields such as history, literature, political science, philosophy, research and analysis, art, informatics, technology, science, faith, personal development, cultural heritage, architecture, and design, as well as periodicals.
The library serves readers in a 600-square-meter space with a capacity of 100 people and features a terrace balcony and a computer lab with 3 workstations.
All local residents can benefit from the lending services of all libraries affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Directorate of City History and Promotion Libraries and Museums Branch, especially the Evliya Çelebi Library.
