İBB Fatma Aliye Library

Located in the Çekmeköy district of Istanbul, Fatma Aliye Library has been serving the public since 2014.

Named after Fatma Aliye, the first female novelist in Turkish literary history to publish a novel under her own name in 1890, the library serves readers in a 255 m² space with a seating capacity of 64.

With a rich collection of 19,019 works, Fatma Aliye Library hosts numerous events and programs for both children and adults. Educational and instructive activities for young visitors of all ages, and various talks and cultural programs for adults, make the library an important center for knowledge and culture in the region.

Residents of the area can benefit from the borrowing services not only at Fatma Aliye Library but also at all libraries affiliated with the Library and Museums Branch Directorate of the Department of City History and Promotion of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

Those who wish to become members can register quickly through the İBB Library Mini app available on the İstanbul Senin mobile application.

Alternatively, users can register through e-Government by visiting turkiye.gov.tr, searching for "İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kütüphane", and clicking on the "Municipality Libraries Membership Information Inquiry and Membership Application" link. After filling in the required information, users can complete the process by clicking "Apply". With the password sent via SMS or email, users can access all services offered by İBB libraries.

Those who prefer to apply in person may do so by visiting the library with a valid form of identification, such as a Turkish ID card, driver's license, or passport.
