Gaziosmanpaşa Meydan Library
In line with the vision of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) to transform the traditional concept of libraries and establish next-generation libraries that serve as both knowledge hubs and cultural-educational centers, the Gaziosmanpaşa Meydan Library was inaugurated on March 8, 2024.
Located in the Merkez Neighborhood of Gaziosmanpaşa, this library spans 1,000 square meters and has a seating capacity of 200. It is situated within a new cultural complex that includes a swimming pool, gymnastics hall, wrestling/mat sports area, tribunes, community center, open market space, sports fields, and children’s playgrounds—offering a comprehensive public space to meet various social needs of the city.
Home to a collection of 25,000 books, the library offers a wide range of topics including history, literature, political science, philosophy, art, informatics, technology, science, religion, personal development, cultural heritage, architecture and design, children's literature, and periodicals.
Residents of the district—and Istanbul at large—can benefit from the borrowing services at this library and all libraries affiliated with the Library and Museums Branch Directorate under the Department of City History and Promotion of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
