Located in the Esentepe neighborhood of Sultangazi district, the Hacı Bektaş Veli Library was opened to the public in 2015. Named after Hacı Bektaş Veli—an iconic figure with a broad cultural and universal significance—the library aims to improve access to knowledge and books for the local community with its rich collection of 28,792 resources.
Operating within a 1,300-square-meter space and offering a 220-person seating capacity, the library provides a quiet and efficient environment for studying while also hosting a variety of cultural events. Reflecting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s vision of next-generation libraries, the facility offers creative drama and storytelling activities for children and organizes talks on literature, art, and thought for adults.
All local residents can benefit from borrowing services at Hacı Bektaş Veli Library and other libraries under the Library and Museums Branch Directorate of the IBB Department of City History and Promotion.
