The Prof. Dr. Halil İnalcık Library, located in the Orhantepe neighborhood of Kartal district, has been serving the public since 2007. Named after renowned historian Prof. Dr. Halil İnalcık, whose academic contributions have gained international recognition, the library welcomes Istanbul residents with its spacious setting and diverse collection.
Covering a 600-square-meter area and offering seating for 105 users, the library holds 23,952 resources in a wide range of subjects including history, literature, political science, philosophy, research, art, information and technology, science, religion, personal development, cultural heritage, architecture and design, children’s literature, and periodicals.
Residents of the area—and across Istanbul—can benefit from the lending services offered not only at this library, but also at all libraries under the Library and Museums Branch Directorate of the IBB Department of City History and Promotion.
