Hasan İzzettin Dinamo Library, established with the vision of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to transform traditional libraries and reach children and youth living in disadvantaged and neglected neighborhoods of our city with the motto “No district will be left without culture, art, and books,” was opened on August 26, 2022.

Located in one of the most central points of Pendik, our library carries the name of Hasan İzzettin Dinamo, one of the prominent faces of Turkish literature known for his socialist realist poetry.

Designed with the goal of turning libraries into true knowledge centers, Hasan İzzettin Dinamo Library serves all Istanbulites, especially the residents of Pendik, with a large capacity of 250 people within an 1800 square meter area.

Our library’s collection consists of a rich selection of 20,076 books from various disciplines including history, literature, political science, philosophy, research, and art.

Residents of Pendik will also benefit from the youth support services provided in other libraries affiliated with İBB. Expert teachers conduct question-solving workshops, and various workshops as well as a question pool accessible through the Istanbul Senin application will meet with students here. Through interdisciplinary studies, Hasan İzzettin Dinamo Library aims to become Pendik’s cultural, artistic, and literary meeting point.

All local residents can borrow books from Hasan İzzettin Dinamo Library as well as all libraries affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of City History and Promotion, Libraries and Museums Branch Directorate.

For membership through e-Government, visit turkiye.gov.tr, search for “Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Library,” and click on the “Municipality Libraries Membership Information Inquiry and Membership Application” link that appears. Fill in the required information on the opened page and complete the process by clicking the ‘Apply’ button. Members can access all İBB library services using the passwords sent via SMS and email.

Readers wishing to become members can also apply to our libraries with an official identity document such as a Turkish ID card, driver’s license, or passport.
