İdris Güllüce Library, located in Istanbul’s Tuzla district, opened in 2006. Named after İdris Güllüce, a politician who served three terms as Tuzla Mayor and held ministerial positions, the library welcomes readers, especially Tuzla residents, in a spacious area of 814 square meters with a capacity for 120 people.
The library’s rich collection of 33,928 works includes books in many categories such as history, literature, political science, philosophy, research and analysis, art, informatics, technology, science, faith, personal development, cultural heritage, architecture and design, children’s books, and periodicals.
Serving with the vision of spreading new-generation librarianship, İdris Güllüce Library hosts a variety of workshops and talks tailored for its audience, including creative drama, storytelling, philosophy, and caricature.
All local residents can benefit from the borrowing services of İdris Güllüce Library as well as all libraries affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of City History and Promotion, Libraries and Museums Branch Directorate.

For membership through e-Government, visit turkiye.gov.tr, search for “Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Library,” and click on the “Municipality Libraries Membership Information Inquiry and Membership Application” link that appears. Fill in the required information on the opened page and complete the process by clicking the ‘Apply’ button. Members can access all İBB library services using the passwords sent via SMS and email.
Readers who wish to register as members can also apply to our libraries with an official identity document such as a Turkish ID card, driver’s license, or passport.
