With its 1600-year history, the Kara Surları (Land Walls), which have left an indelible mark on Istanbul’s skyline, have been revitalized through the meticulous efforts of İBB Miras, transforming into a living hub of culture and art.
Thanks to the restoration carried out by the İBB Miras teams under the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Department of Urban History and Promotion, with an approach of "preserving the aesthetic of ruins," these unique structures, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, have undergone a comprehensive renovation after 30 years.
