Named after Prof. Dr. Metin And, who contributed a wide range of works to Turkey in fields such as music, ballet, opera, theater, literature, and art history, our library was opened to the public in Sefaköy in 2008.

The Metin And Library, with its rich collection of 15,584 works, a 306-square-meter area, and a capacity of 135 people, has been welcoming readers since its opening. Our library brings together a diverse range of works—including history, literature, political science, philosophy, research and analysis, art, IT, technology, science, faith, personal development, cultural heritage, architecture and design books, children’s books, and periodicals—with the people of Istanbul, especially the residents of Sefaköy.

Readers who wish to become members can quickly register and access our services through the İBB Library Mini application via the İstanbul Senin mobile app.

For membership procedures via e-Government, users should log in to turkiye.gov.tr, search for "İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kütüphane" (Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Library), and click on the link titled "Belediye Kütüphaneleri Üyelik Bilgileri Sorgulama ve Üyelik Başvurusu" (Municipal Libraries Membership Information Inquiry and Application). On the page that opens for new memberships, they can complete their application by filling in the required information and clicking the 'Apply' button. By logging in with the password sent via SMS to their mobile phones and to their email addresses, they can access all services of İBB libraries.
