The İBB Museum Gazhane Audio Library opened its doors to readers on July 9, 2021, as part of the transformation of the Hasanpaşa Gasworks—one of Istanbul’s important examples of industrial heritage—into a public cultural and arts venue.
Now a popular destination in the daily lives of city residents, Museum Gazhane offers not only various relaxation areas but also dedicated study spaces for Istanbulites.
Providing the technical support and comfort that readers may need, the Audio Library also facilitates group work. The Audio Library operates in a 150-square-meter space with a capacity of 60 people.
Located within Museum Gazhane, the Afife Batur Library offers a wide collection of over 5,000 works in various categories, including general culture, art, science, history, research, urban studies, ecology, architecture, philosophy, and sociology. It serves in a 200-square-meter area with a capacity of 160 people.
