Located in the Genç Osman Neighborhood of Istanbul’s Güngören district, the Osman Nuri Ergin Library has been serving the public since 2002.

Our library is named after Osman Nuri Ergin, who served as director in various divisions of the Istanbul Municipality (Istanbul Şehremaneti) and brought many documents and records to light through his archival work with the municipality. The library houses a large and diverse book collection.

The Osman Nuri Ergin Library, operating on a 277-square-meter area with a capacity of 100 people, offers a rich selection of 19,122 books from many genres, including history, literature, political science, philosophy, research and analysis, art, IT, technology, science, religion, personal development, cultural heritage, architecture and design, children's books, and periodicals.

All local residents can benefit from the lending services of the Osman Nuri Ergin Library, as well as all libraries affiliated with the Library and Museums Directorate under the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Urban History and Promotion. Readers who wish to become members can quickly register and access our services via the İBB Library Mini application on the İstanbul Senin mobile app.

For membership procedures via e-Government, users should log in to turkiye.gov.tr, search for "İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kütüphane" (Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Library), and click on the link titled "Belediye Kütüphaneleri Üyelik Bilgileri Sorgulama ve Üyelik Başvurusu" (Municipal Libraries Membership Information Inquiry and Application). On the page that opens for new memberships, they can complete the application by entering the required information and clicking the 'Apply' button. By logging in with the password sent via SMS to their mobile phone and to their email address, they can access all İBB library services.

Alternatively, readers wishing to become members may visit our libraries in person with an officially valid identification document such as a Turkish ID card, driver’s license, or passport and complete their registration on site.
