Named after Peyami Safa, one of the prominent authors of the Republican era in Turkish literature, our library was designed with the vision of adding new libraries to Istanbul that serve not only as places with rich book collections but also as cultural and educational centers. The Peyami Safa Library opened its doors on March 29, 2022.
The library’s collection includes 12,000 books, covering a wide variety of subjects such as history, literature, political science, philosophy, research, art, informatics, technology, science, religion, personal development, cultural heritage, architecture and design, children’s books, and periodicals.
The Peyami Safa Library regularly hosts workshops and activities in literature, theater, painting, music, and other arts; educational activities for children; supportive seminars for parents; creative writing workshops; author-reader meetings; cartooning and illustration workshops; screenwriting workshops; video art sessions; IT workshops, and more. The library also offers study programs to support students preparing for exams, meeting the need for study spaces for local students. Spanning an area of 550 square meters, the library serves Istanbul residents with a capacity of 130 people.
