Sabahattin Eyüboğlu Library opened on August 3rd, 2022, in the Firuzköy Neighborhood of the Avcılar district in Istanbul.
The library bears the name of Sabahattin Eyüboğlu, a key intellectual, writer, academic, and translator in Turkey. In line with the motto “There will be no district where culture, art and books cannot reach,” the library aims to serve as a cultural and educational hub, revitalising disadvantaged or neglected communities, especially focussing on outreach for children and young people.
Our library provides service with an area of 1000 square meters and a capacity of 120 people. It has a rich collection of 10,000 books on History, literature, political science, philosophy, research and review, art, informatics, technology, science, religion, self-improvement, cultural heritage, architecture and design books, children's books, and periodicals. The library host workshops for various age groups and acorss different disciplines from political science to philosophy, history, literature, architecture and theatre.
Sabahattin Eyüboğlu Kütüphanesi'nin yanı sıra İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kültür Varlıkları Dairesi Başkanlığı, Kütüphaneler ve Müzeler Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı tüm kütüphanelerin ödünç verme hizmetlerinden bölge sakinleri yararlanabiliyor. Üye olmak isteyen okuyucularımızın TC kimlik kartı, ehliyet, pasaport gibi resmi geçerliliği olan bir kimlik belgesi ile kütüphanelerimize başvurmaları gerekmektedir.
