It was designed in like with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s new genertation library project that aims to transform libraries beyond their traditional capacities into cultural and educational hubs.
The library is named after the esteemed Turkish writer Sevgi Soysal, known for her neo-realism inspired style and stories that convey the struggles of individuals within society. Her work sparked increased awareness for libertarian social change at the time it was published and now.
The library facilitates the access of Istanbul residents to books and culture. It also meets the study area needs of students.The Sevgi Soysal Library hostrs a collection of 10,200 books with works from different disciplines, from literature to art, and History to architecture. The library is 1071 square meters and has a capacity of 141 people.
Sevgi Soysal Kütüphanesi'nin yanı sıra İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kültür Varlıkları Dairesi Başkanlığı Kütüphaneler ve Müzeler Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı tüm kütüphanelerin ödünç verme hizmetlerinden tüm bölge sakinlerimiz yararlanabiliyor. Üye olmak isteyen okuyucularımızın TC kimlik kartı, ehliyet, pasaport gibi resmi geçerliliği olan bir kimlik belgesi ile kütüphanelerimize başvurmaları gerekmektedir.
