In line with the principle of "No district will be left without culture, art, and books," Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality opened the Sezai Karakoç Library in Güngören on October 30, 2021.
Named after Sezai Karakoç, one of the prominent figures in Turkish literature, our library welcomes readers with its collection of 6,013 works encompassing a wide range of fields such as history, literature, political science, philosophy, architecture, and periodicals.
Serving in a 350 m² area with a capacity of 90 people, our library also hosts literature, theater, painting, music, and art workshops, educational activities for children, and supportive seminars for parents.
All local residents can benefit from the lending services of the Sezai Karakoç Library, as well as all libraries affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Urban History and Promotion, Library and Museums Branch Directorate.
Readers can easily become members by applying with a valid government-issued ID (Turkish ID card, driver’s license, or passport).
