Yaşar Kemal Library was opened on June 30, 2022, in the Sarıgazi Neighborhood of Sancaktepe district, Istanbul.
Named after Yaşar Kemal, one of the greatest literary figures to emerge from these lands, our library has brought new energy to the area by meeting the study and socialization needs of children and young people, especially in the city's disadvantaged regions.
Our library, which consists of 6 floors and covers an area of 1,774 square meters, serves Istanbul residents with a total capacity of 230 people. The rich collection of 20,000 works includes a wide variety of subjects such as history, literature, political science, philosophy, research and analysis, art, informatics, technology, science, spirituality, personal development, cultural heritage, architecture and design, children's books, and periodicals.
Since its opening, Yaşar Kemal Library has hosted many popular workshops and talks. Additionally, study and question-solving workshops are organized during exam periods to support students.
