The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has transformed a building formerly used as the Anadolu Parks and Gardens Branch Directorate into the Kemal Sunal Museum, in memory of the beloved icon of Turkish cinema, Kemal Sunal.
Located in Göztepe, this two-story museum displays a wide array of special items ranging from the legendary actor’s film posters and personal belongings to his wax statue and costumes worn in his movies. Visitors have the opportunity to closely explore objects that witnessed the artist’s life, while also embarking on an in-depth journey into the history of Turkish cinema.
The museum also features temporary exhibition spaces and a library focused on the history of film. The legacy of the master actor, who passed away in 2000, continues to be passed down to new generations through this museum.
